Golden Axe is one of the great beat 'em ups of the late 80s, developed by SEGA and released on a dozen or so different platforms. The story puts you in a medieval fantasy world where Death Adder, an evil tyrant, has subjugated the Yuria people with the help of his vile army. And only you can stop him.
Starting out you can pick from three mythic heroes: the barbarian, the dwarf, and the amazon. Each character is different from the rest: the amazon is faster and has more powerful magic, the dwarf is stronger but his magic is weaker, and the barbarian is a balance between both of them.
Once you pick your character, you set out on the path that will lead you to the chambers of Death Adder himself, where you have to put an end to his reign of terror. Along the way, though, are hundreds of other enemies for you to face. Luckily you can cast devastating spells and ride atop terrifying creatures.
This title is part of the so-called SEGA Forever line, a series of games for mobile devices officially released by the company that are identical in gameplay to the originals and offer the chance to customize the touch controls and even save your progress at any time. All are free-to-play, meaning you'll simply see a few ads in the start menu. Once you start playing there are no banners or anything of the sort to slow down your gaming experience.
